So I want to skate council crest and terwillinger what are normal top speeds and what skill levlels do you ahve to be.
I like to skate both runs of tabor and switchabcks full speed. I can drift toeside and heelside and shutdown very fast.I can also footbreak to slow down.

hey dude, this is tim from tabor wednsdays this summer. council crest has a really cool run on dosch rd. which you can take the bus (from switchbacks) to the top and then bomb down towards ohsu. i'd say you're ready for it, but if you're not comfortable skating around cars and other traffic, i'd give zoobomb a try first. it's mainly a bombing road full of sweepers and it leads to a few pretty cool spots on the way back into town. i'm looking to skate something tomorrow, so let me know if you're down to check it out 50three6seven9five306
i'll be at zoobomb forsure at some point tomorrow weather permitting

My parent dont fell comfortable with skating on the road alone so is it safer to skate with a group on roads like council crest and zoobomb and is it a good idea to have my parents drive behind me

yea its safer to bomb in a group or at least with a couple friends. preferably some experienced riders up front so any oncoming traffic already knows you're coming down. its also a good idea to bomb when there isn't too much traffic like in the morning or at night (with a headlight just in case) as long as you remember to stay in your lane and slide at stop signs, you should probably be fine. also remember that skaters in portland are protected by a city ordinance that considers us the same as bicycles, but if you venture out of town, you have to be even more cautious cause chances are they don't allow skateboarders on the roads

Council Crest is a fun bomb but has some pretty chunky pavement on parts. Dosch is also really fun but the traffic on there can get pretty gnarly. A year ago Adam Yates had a bad run-in with a car and dislocated his knee.
Zoobomb is a good run to skate down when the traffic is low. Try to hit it at times when people aren't commuting to and from work. Also make sure to stop at all stop signs. Police have increased patrol on the Zoo hill.

I live close to Tewilliger in SW and hadn't ridden it till the other week. Its my new route to downtown and the zoo of course. Its a pretty nice mellow hill with a few tiny parts you must walk up but are made up for, nice bike path too

Just do Zoobomb, you can break 40 on Zoobomb if you know what you're doing. Please stay in your lane and please stop at the stop signs, or you'll risk getting a ticket for disobeying stop signs.

Terwilliger seems to have moderate to heavy traffic at almost all times of day. I would find something else, particularly Zoobomb as you can take the MAX right back up to the top - very minimal hiking involved.

If you want your parents following you (or they want to follow you), tell them to stay at least 50 feet back. If you fall, you might end up coming to a stop faster than they can and I'm pretty certain your parents don't want to run you over.
