Poker Run Fun

The idea was simple. Get some friends together, have a couple adult beverages, and skate around town for a bit. Costumes were an added bonus.
But nothing is ever that simple. I bounced the idea off Dave and he thought it sounded fun. We then added a Poker Run element to it and we were off.

It was pretty straight forward. We visited five bars on the way downtown from Rip City, sessioning in between.
We got our first card at the shop and picked Best Costume. At each bar we picked a card. By the time we got to the Boiler Room in Olde Town, we each had six cards. Throw away one card and the best five card poker hand wins.
After all the shenanigans and an additional 18 pack, it was a close one with Billy Bones taking the Grand Prize of a $50 bar tab at the Boiler Room. Sharing it with the whole crew is how we do it here, so we had a couple more and watched Billy and Jon slay the room with Karaoke.

We actually got 10 people for the first adventure. It was the perfect size group for the inaugural cruise. We had prizes for everyone. Three reTURN custom cruiser boards, a couple sets of trucks from Gullwing, bones wheels, and a bunch of swag from Sector 9. We hope to do this again soon so keep an eye out.

But the big winners were:

Best Costume = Jon Huey
Worst 1st card = Casey
Best 1st card = Skip
Best Slam = Casey
Grand Prize = Billy Meiners

Prizes were donated by TURNco, Sector 9, Rip City Skates, and Gullwing. Thanks for everything!

Break time! Pushing is tiring.

It's always so awesome watching Casey eat food. It's pure pleasure.

But don't eat his fries unless your prepared to face the bird and hate face.
